Demonstration Class, Taught by Marcia DePalma & Laura DePalma Isabella
If you’ve ever dreamed of growing an herb garden, this 3-hour, super-informative class is for you! With decades of gardening under her belt, Marcia walks you through the different steps to get started – from which herbs are most popular in the kitchen to how to plant them, their growing needs, maintenance, and how to harvest. From there, learn to bring their flavors straight into the kitchen, enjoying several recipes during class for beverages, marinades, appetizers, compound herb butters & dips, salads, and more including Italian Basil Lemonade; Homemade Mint Pesto & Crisp Crudités; Roasted Tomato, Ricotta & Basil Crostini; Sage-Cheddar Melts with Tomato-Dill Soup; Pasta with Zucchini, Lemon, Fresh Herbs & Walnuts; Lemon-Thyme Marinated Chicken; and Laurel Run’s signature Lemon-Rosemary Sugar Cookies. You will also receive a 60+-page Laurel Run Herb Notebook filled with history, growing tips, and tons of additional recipes, too. The sampling we do of each herb in class is only a small portion of recipes that you’ll receive in your notebook.
We will also have a limited number of fresh herbs for sale for $5-6 each before class: mint, basil, parsley, dill, chives, oregano, thyme, tarragon, and rosemary. If you would like to purchase herbs and have them ready for you at class, please specify types and quantities of herbs when registering.
