Back by popular demand, our first official cooking competition of “the next generation” Laurel Run will be… a Mother-Daughter Showdown Throwdown! The duo will sharpen their knives and put out what they each think is their best version of Chicken Tikka Masala, a creamy, spiced chicken curry dish popularized in British-Indian communities and now beloved the world over. But who’s iteration will be deemed the best? That’s for YOU to decide! This class will include demonstrations on both variations of Chicken Tikka Masala, plus you’ll learn how to make Homemade Garlic Naan bread, perfectly Fluffy Basmati Rice, cooling Cucumber Raita, and sweet Carrot Halwa for dessert. Come for the cooking, the competition and the fun! Techniques covered include marinating, broiling, sautéing, griddling, steaming, making dough, and basic knife skills. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages, including wine and beer.
